The Range And Versatility Of Exterior Wall Cladding Materials

The variety of exterior wall cladding materials demonstrates the longstanding endurance of a finishing system that provides protection for the building’s interior from weather. Wall cladding materials serve an esthetic function as well, enlivening a building’s exteriors while shielding it from the excesses of snow, rain, wind, hail, and harsh sunlight. The ease with which these materials are installed matches the durability that you can expect with wall cladding materials.

Translucent exterior wall panels not only enhance the look of a building, but they also incorporate daylighting features that improve conditions for the people inside the building. The acknowledged benefits of increased visibility, improved productivity, and an overall greater feeling of wellbeing help to explain why architects appreciate cladding. As long as the quality of the exterior wall cladding materials is superior, the building exterior can expect to enjoy the benefits of cladding for a long time into the future.

In addition to its esthetic and weatherproofing properties, exterior wall cladding materials also offer thermal insulation, soundproofing, and pollution resistance. When choosing the wall cladding materials that are right for your building’s needs, it’s important to pay attention to the needs of the structure and the appearance that you prefer.

The Properties Of Exterior Wall Cladding Materials

After existing building practices changed in the 20th century to include the gaps that are present between the exterior and interior walls, the responsibility of bearing the load could then be carried out by the inner wall; meanwhile, the outer wall adds heat retention and protection from the weather. The external wall, which no longer needs to provide support for the structure, can now be made of thinner sections because its purpose is to prevent weather from penetrating the building.

How To Choose Exterior Wall Cladding Materials

Cladding has been an architectural practice as long ago as the ancient Egyptian civilization and it has enjoyed numerous advances as technology has progressed. The esthetics of translucent exterior wall panels deliver an array of colors, finishes and textures that gives a building its own unique identity, transforming it from a mere physical structure to a building in which purpose and appearance unite. Here are some of the most popular wall cladding materials.

Brick

Any child who has read the story of The Three Little Pigs and the Big, Bad Wolf grows up knowing the advantages of brick as a building material. That holds true with brick external wall cladding materials as well. It’s fire-resistant, non-toxic, requires minimal maintenance, provides thermal efficiency, is able to insulate sound. Moreover, weather can huff and puff and not blow it down. Bricks are sustainable, which makes them an environmental winner, and they come in different sizes, colors, textures, and finishes. Whether you are considering external wall cladding materials in India or Ireland or Israel, or anywhere else across the globe, you will find satisfaction in brick cladding.

Stone

Stone brings its inherent elegance to a structure, so stone wall cladding materials is timeless in its appeal. It weathers the years well, requires minimal maintenance, and is easy to install. Because stone-cladding systems can be slotted together, this popular cladding material is cost effective.

Wood

As wall cladding materials go, wood hits its mark for today’s sustainability-conscious public as well as for the variety of textures, patterns, and hues that deliver a satisfying appearance. Durable and energy efficient, wood is always a popular cladding choice.

Metal

It’s modern it’s strong, it’s attractive, and because it mixes and matches with glass and wood, it’s the “plays well with others” choice in external wall cladding materials.

Ceramic

The Egyptians of old knew a thing or two about beauty, and they came early to the ceramic external wall cladding materials fan club. Ceramic cladding remains popular today, with brick-slip and terracotta rainscreen cladding systems the combine an attractive appearance with reliable weather resistance.

Glass

Long prized for its esthetic appearance, glass is well established among external wall cladding materials. Economical in its price, glass is available in tempered, curved, enameled, and laminated forms.

The Variety of Exterior Wall Cladding Materials In India

Brick, metal, stone, and wood are as popular in India as they are all over the world when wall cladding materials are being installed. Fiber cement, aluminum, and plastic are also in common use on the Indian Subcontinent. India, which experiences the punishment weather brought by floods, thunderstorms, and dangerous heat waves, provides a challenge to commercial wall cladding materials, but it’s a challenge the cladding is able to meet.

Weather travels the globe, and so does Danpal. With a commercial presence on five continents, Danpal is an expert in the damage that weather can do. Our dedication to excellence keeps weather at bay with the quality of our external wall cladding materials.

La Tour Daviel student residence, a Student Restructuring

La Tour Daviel student residence, it is due to a front extension and a complete restructuring of the building that the Daviel university Residence in Paris can now accommodate students in comfortable and spacious rooms replacing the somewhat old narrow ones.

For the facade, the change is total “to give a new positive image of the home and the neighbourhood,” says Jean-André Macchini, project architect. The 1,60 m extensions have earned valuable surface area without weighing down the structure by a lightweight system combining a timber frame and Danpalon® cladding.

Three-panel colours, clear, opal and ice, sometimes gives the perception of the colour of a steel tray in the background, developing into a set of bright and colourful surfaces. Jean-André Macchini says: “The entire building vibrates and responds to the slightest modulation of natural light during the day and night in the Paris sky, with random colour effects and reflections depending on the occupancy and
the lighting of the rooms.

The perception of the building is very different depending on where it is viewed from: from a distance, white dominates, based on the Parisian landscape; from up close the iridescent colours vibrate the volume.

This work on the material constituting the skin of the facade is a counterpoint to a set of recesses and projections, recess angles, shadow effects, and sculpturing by refining its size.”

Glass curtain wall systems

There’s a lot that we don’t like about nature. We don’t like the pounding rainstorms that lead to dangerous storms and winds. We don’t like the heavy snowfalls and blizzards that travel across the region as if they’re invading.  We don’t like the hail that strikes the roofs of our vehicles. We don’t like the wild winds that can uproot trees and scatter their branches all over the place. What we do like about nature is the light.  How we feel when we wake up in the morning sometimes may depend on whether it’s a grey day outside, or we wake to the first rays of the sun rising.  in the sky. Danpal’s glass curtain wall systems are designed to allow the best of nature, the light, to be brought inside, while keeping the worst of nature outside.

Glass Curtain Wall Systems Give Us More Natural Light

If you can spend your day in an environment where you aren’t entirely dependent upon artificial light in order to see, don’t you find yourself feeling better? It’s more than health, it’s a holistic signal from the natural realm that we are an integral part of the universe. Some weather can sometimes depress us, but natural light uplifts us.

Glass Curtain Wall Systems Don’t Surrender To Weather

Have you ever stopped to count the number of times you’ve made a complaint about the weather over the course of a year?  Each season brings its own litany of complaints; even summer, which can often be too hot for comfort, sending us hurrying inside to take refuge in air conditioning. But we’re just as dissatisfied during the cold of winter, the sudden rains of spring, and the winds of autumn that strip the leaves from the trees before they have a chance to fall on their own. If a building could talk, imagine how it would have cause to complain about the weather.  Yet it endures the elements and, thanks to the strength and durability of Danpal’s glass curtain wall systems, doesn’t give in to the weather.

Polycarbonate Wall Cladding Has Superhero Powers

The appeal of polycarbonate wall cladding, quite simply, is that its strength doesn’t interfere with the beauty of the structure. This feature is often displayed in one of the many Danpal projects that has earned acclaim for its blend of two very different, but very important, building features. The stunning attraction of the ALBERCA UNIVERSIDAD POLITÉCNICA METROPOLITANA for example, perfectly displays the unique qualities of polycarbonate wall cladding.

To define polycarbonate as a synthetic resin doesn’t begin to describe the varied qualities of this remarkable product. A polycarbonate wall merits more appreciative adjectives encompassing its features. It is strong, transparent, lightweight, and easily shaped. These traits are one of the reason that polycarbonate forms such easy cladding. But there’s a superhero hiding behind that exterior.

Polycarbonate wall cladding is one of the most widely used thermoplastics in today’s building industry. However, although it was discovered over a century ago, in 1898, it wasn’t commercialized until the 1950s. One of the reasons for the long span of time between its creation and the rise of its popularity may have been color; up until 1970, when it was given clear, glass-like transparency, it retained a brownish tint..

The market for polycarbonate sheets is projected to reach USD 2.11 billion by 2023, promising an annual growth rate of 4.5%. What has made this building material so incredibly popular in today’s construction market?

The Purpose Of Polycarbonate Cladding

Polycarbonate cladding is a decorative covering that gives what was once a plain, ordinary wall a dynamic new identity. A polycarbonate wall is typically nonstructural and does not alter a building’s architectural core or its stability. Despite its lack of a structural role, it does have a function, and can serve as a source of insulation behind the cladding. Polycarbonate cladding is generally displayed on a building’s exterior, but it can also be part of a structure’s interior.

The Allure Of Polycarbonate Wall Cladding

The transformative powers of commercial polycarbonate wall cladding have given architectural design an engaging new definition. When the side of a building is given a new look thanks to the installation of this easy cladding, it alters the appearance of the structure without the cumbersome expense and effort of rebuilding the existing wall. Adding polycarbonate textures and materials to the existing wall is the equivalent of giving a building a facelift, minus the surgery!

Polycarbonate wall cladding is so versatile that an older building attains a new image, perhaps with a polycarbonate wall that is made of composite materials designed to resemble other materials that would be more expensive. What looks like brick, wood, stone, or metal on the outside may be made out of asphalt or fiber cement. Different alternations can be made so that the final result closely resembles the substance that it imitates, but the impression is so authentic that passers-by will be convinced they’re looking at a newly added brick or wood exterior.

Easy cladding is also enhanced by the dazzling array of textures and finishes that Danpal provides. Imagine how an exterior wall with a metal polycarbonate composition would look if aluminum, copper, bronze, or brass enlivened its exterior surface with their beauty! The architect working with polycarbonate wall cladding has the boundless freedom of an artist with so many ways to give a building a new look.

One caveat to keep in mind when giving a structure a new look: make sure that the building was originally built with the strength that will be needed to support the enhancing new feature. This is more likely to be an issue if polycarbonate wall cladding is added to an internal part of the structure. External additions are not likely to create any problems.

Polycarbonate thermal insulation properties help to explain why it is becoming an increasingly popular cladding choice. Multiwall polycarbonate sheets create additional air pockets around the building, improving its thermal performance. And insulation behind cladding isn’t just for improving the heating in your home: your polycarbonate wall also insulates against noise. Maybe you’ve noticed polycarbonate sheets used as partitions in an office or as an acoustic barrier on a construction site. Now you know why; they help to diminish the noise levels.

Making The Case For Polycarbonate Cladding

One of the many reasons that the use of polycarbonate has increased in construction projects is that it possesses the transparency of glass without the fragility. Unlike glass, polycarbonate wall cladding can be readily bent, even onsite, and turned into a curved surface. It can be heated or cooled and then reheated again without degradation, which makes it recyclable. Its strength makes it able to withstand weather elements. It weighs less than half what glass weighs, but is 250 times stronger! It’s even bulletproof, which must make polycarbonate the superhero of building materials.

The Strength And Appeal Of A Double Skin Façade System

A double skin façade is a structural term that refers to the two façades of a building, typically the vertical element, with a cavity in between them. Within that cavity is an air flow. The benefit of this system is the way that it maintains a consistent temperature, a sign that energy is being used efficiently. If you’re cozy and warm in the winter, and cool in the summer, then you probably don’t even think about whether or not your heating and cooling systems are operating at their most efficient levels. But when energy is being lost, and temperatures have to be adjusted, it’s a sign that you’re losing energy. Energy lost is energy wasted and that means money is spent for energy you aren’t using. Installation of an architectural curtain wall can restore the balance of your heating and cooling systems so that the double skin façade takes on some of the work of keeping a building’s interior spaces warmer in the winter and cooler in the summer.

The matter of energy is particularly apparent in big-city construction, where limited space makes high-rise buildings an inevitable part of the landscape. However, these buildings carry immense weight, an obstacle in architectural design. An architectural curtain wall alleviates the issue of weight by adding glass, which carries a high convection coefficient rather than a construction material that would lead to greater thermal loss.

The subject of façades leads to an examination of glass. When a segment of a building’s front exterior employs a glass curtain wall system as part of daylighting architecture, we’re reminded of the powerful visual appeal of glass. Thanks to the major improvements made in façade engineering, glass is a primary construction material for contemporary buildings.

Curtain walling describes the nonstructural outer wall of a building whose purpose is to block weather from penetrating the structure’s interior while at the same time ensuring the comfort of the people within.

The nonstructural status of a double glazing curtain wall allows it to be made out of a lightweight material like glass. A primary aspect of double skin façade detail is its ability to present a barrier to the air and moisture that wind, rain and snow could bring inside. These double façade systems can withstand the wind loads while absorbing the wind sway.

The glass of a double skin façade system adds flexibility to the design of the building, because it can be molded into

different shapes. A double skin curtain wall’s performance is matched by its attractive aesthetic benefits, with transparent and translucent capabilities that feature natural light as part of the internal setting. By its ability to allow sunlight to enter into a building, a curtain wall façade helps to economize on energy costs. That’s because you’re using more natural light and less artificial light. The way that technology has enhanced the properties of glass has turned glass into an ally in the regulation of building heating and cooling. Further investigation into the properties of the architectural curtain wall will validate your decision to install it into your home or office building.

Architectural Curtain Wall Energy Efficiency

Curtain Wall System

You might think that a nonstructural component of a building design would be an insignificant part of the structure, but that’s not the case. Glass panel façades assist a building in the crucial area of energy efficiency, a topic which has become a shared concern of a growing majority of the world’s population. Keep in mind that the double skin façade, because the intermediate cavity between the two layers reinforces the system’s insulating capacity against winds, extremes in temperature, and also sound, offers a multifunctional advantage.

A building’s thermal efficiency needs to be able to perform in both high and low temperatures, a task which a glass curtain wall can easily accomplish. Double skin façades, because of their adaptability to hot and cold temperatures, add diversity to the heating and cooling process. If you live in a cold climate, the air buffer serves as a barrier to prevent heat loss. On the other hand, when the cavity in the glass curtain wall has absorbed heat, it’s able to provide warmth for space outside the glass, thereby lowering the demand on your indoor heating system. Your architectural curtain wall can also be enhanced with modifications such as inlets, outlet fins, or air circulators to benefit the performance of the façade.

The double skin façade system, which readily adapts to the temperature changes brought by the different seasons of the year, improves the internal insulation by keeping it dry, lowering utility costs, and supporting environmental standards designed to benefit the planet and the people who live on it.

Another feature of a double glass curtain wall system that enhances its ecological value is the fact that glass is inherently better able to keep its appearance and integrity longer than more traditional building materials. For one thing, glass doesn’t rust the way metal does. It doesn’t become weathered the way that wood does. A glass curtain wall provides a dual purpose by supporting energy efficiency, always a priority in our climate-conscious world, and at the same time, strengthening the system itself. This immunity to the danger posed by the elements makes your double curtain wall environmentally superior in performance.

How Danpal’s Double Skin Façades Benefit the Environment

We all know that in poorer countries, maintaining sustainable environmental practices can be a challenge. Commercial Wall Cladding: Wood, Metal, Glass—The Pros And Cons

Commercial wall cladding presents an abundance of positive construction options: it’s easy to install; it offers a striking appearance that gives a structure its own unique image; it comes in a variety of materials; and it adds strength and stability to the walls.

As a leader in the building materials field, Danpal has established a reputation for developing and manufacturing commercial wall cladding systems that expand our traditional understanding of architecture. South Korea’s Gwangju Universiade Swimming Pool is a prime example of how Danpal’s commercial cladding can provide a structure with the necessary protection from the elements that it needs while allowing its beauty to be fully envisioned.

By enhancing a structure’s appearance both functionally and esthetically, the structural design achieves a more complete realization of the original architectural vision. Customers interested in learning more about cladding options can find out the advantages and the potential drawbacks of the different commercial wall cladding systems.

RAINSCREEN CLADDING

The Variety of Materials Available For Commercial Wall Cladding

Commercial cladding adds to the appearance of a building by providing both the familiarity of materials that people associate with construction, while adding the versatility of a commercial wall cladding system to provide unique appeal. Three of the most popular materials for commercial walling systems are wood, metal, and glass. Each option offers different advantages, as well as points of concern, for your building.

The Pros and Cons Of Wood In Commercial Wall Cladding

Using wood for commercial building cladding is not new; it’s been a practice for over 100 years. People associate a wooden exterior with natural, cozy appeal and the charm is definitely apparent in the look. However, it’s important to remember that if you’re choosing wood for your commercial cladding, you need to make sure the wood is treated with a weather-resistant finish. This choice of commercial walling system does need proper maintenance in order to protect the building’s appearance. That needed maintenance can present extra work and money: wood commercial cladding needs refinishing every so many years, or the exteriors can experience damage. There’s no doubt about the popularity of wood as a component of a commercial walling system, but be prepared to maintain it if you want that gorgeous exterior to hold its appearance. If it’s not painted or stained on a regular basis, commercial wall cladding systems falls prey to the deterioration and damage caused by weather, insects, and rot. When properly cared for, the appeal of wood asserts itself to give a building a timeless appeal.

The Pros and Cons Of Commercial Walling Systems Made of Metal

Commercial cladding that’s made of metal brings a very contemporary appearance to a structure. Architects use aluminum, steel, copper or zinc cladding so that a building conveys a vivid esthetic image while it reinforces the impression of strength. Metal does bring added cost, however, which may diminish its appeal for some building owners. When weighing costs, it’s important to keep in mind that, although zinc and copper will carry a higher price, you’ll reap a return on that investment because they’re resistant to corrosion, which saves money over time. Metal commercial cladding tends to be easy to install, thanks to panels that can be attached to a building’s exterior by using a fastening system. As long as your commercial wall cladding has a protective finish, it’s unlikely to require much maintenance. Depending on where the building is located, and the codes that are in effect in that area, it might be necessary to evaluate a metal commercial walling system’s ability to stand up to extreme weather conditions.

The Pros And Cons Of Glass In Commercial Wall Cladding

Glass has enjoyed popularity as a commercial cladding material for a long time. Its properties make it suitable for a building in which an abundance of light is desired. Danpal, which has pioneered daylighting architecture, understands why this building material is so often sought after as a choice for commercial building cladding. Glass, of course, comes with certain weaknesses, including its brittleness. In order to allow for this vulnerability, glass commercial cladding is designed with gaps between the panels so that movement is part of the system’s process.

With all of the esthetic features which make the Gwangiu Universiade Swimming Pool so inviting, the commercial wall cladding system does not neglect its functional needs. Any commercial product has a responsibility to deliver on the design of the architect and to support the expectations of the client. Customer satisfaction is something that Danpal, with 50 years of experience in the field, understands well.

Rainscreen Cladding Keeps Insulation Free From Moisture

Rainscreen Cladding: It takes a global company with a business presence on five continents to truly understand the nature of Mother Nature. By paying close attention to weather patterns, Danpal can dedicate its research and development designers and engineers to creating the most innovative products available. Mother Nature, as you’ve probably noticed, isn’t getting gentler with age. Her snowstorms are so powerful that we know them by name. Hurricanes are increasingly devastating as they bring catastrophic wind and rain to the land. Droughts in some parts of the world lead to wildfires that are impossible to control. The planet is growing increasingly hot and those temperatures are having an effect on all the weather that we experience.

All these factors which leap from the evening weather report to affect our lives are more than just news headlines. They are shaping the future of the planet and with such high stakes, they also affect the way that the building industry manufactures its products.

With such dire news about the weather, it’s important to realize that there’s a bright spot in the building industry. Danpal, a leader in the building market, has built a sound foundation as a pioneer in the development of high-quality, high-performance products that don’t surrender to weather. Danpal rainscreen cladding is designed to keep the inside of a building free from the invasion of moisture from the weather outside. Because our rainscreen cladding mounts a strong defense against weather, insulation stays dry and your building stays healthy.

Rainscreen CladdingKEEPING YOUR INSULATION DRY SO THAT MOLD DOESN’T GROW

We don’t always think of the buildings where we live and work as being models of health, but structures also need to maintain their wellbeing. If a building is unhealthy, it affects the occupants inside. Damp insulation leads to the growth of mold which can have a dramatic effect on health, especially for people with allergies or asthma or other respiratory conditions. Because rainscreen cladding is designed to prevent weather from penetrating the exterior of a building, it plays a vital role in safeguarding insulation inside.

THE VENTILATED RAINSCREEN SYSTEM (VRS)

Danpal has developed the state-of-the-art Ventilated Rainscreen System or VRS, which is specifically designed to lock out weather and moisture. VRS has double-notched panels that enhance the ability to resist penetration by weather and block rain and snow, and the moisture they leave behind, from causing damage to insulation. That defense is the result of the VRS air gap, with natural ventilation that keeps the system working efficiently.

RAINSCREEN CLADDING’S EASY MAINTENANCE

Danpal designs products that are easy to maintain. Rainscreen cladding doesn’t even need much in the way of periodic service or maintenance. And it’s as easy to install as it is to maintain; that’s because the connections can be made directly onto the support without the need for additional structural support.

Don’t let weather gain the upper hand with your building. Choose Danpal’s rainscreen cladding and keep your insulation free from moisture.

Wall Cladding Keeps A Building Healthy And Free From Mold

When making decisions about a building, selections of style and color often dominate the design process. And yet, one of the most important decisions to be made in the planning stages may not get the attention that it should. How will you protect the insulation in your building so that moisture from rain and snow don’t invade the inside of a structure? This vital decision affects the energy efficiency of a building, the health, and wellbeing of those insides, and even the life span of the structure itself. Making the right decision on wall cladding can avoid the problems that result from damp insulation.

DANPAL’S VENTILATED RAINSCREEN SYSTEM: WALL CLADDING AT ITS BEST

Danpal’s Ventilated Rainscreen System or VRS protects insulation completely. With natural ventilation that’s based upon the built-in air gap, the convective motion behind the panels keeps insulation moisture-free. The wall cladding panels are double-notched and watertight. Made of connector-bound microcell technology, the polycarbonate panels are three times lighter than traditional rainscreen cladding. Our customized panel lengths range from the standard 12.0m to longer, depending on your preference and the design of the building itself. Because the connections can be made directly onto the support, there’s no need to use additional supporting framed structures. VRS is light, it’s solid, and it keeps your building’s insulation dry.

Wall CladdingWALL CLADDING AND BUILDING HEALTH

The condition of the insulation in a building possesses enormous control over a building’s wellbeing. Damp insulation that’s been compromised by moisture caused by rain and snow affects the energy efficiency of a building. If the temperature in the home or workplace isn’t consistent and needs to be constantly adjusted to adapt to the cold or heat outside, your energy may be escaping. This will cause your utility bills to increase because you’re paying for energy that you aren’t using. It also takes its toll on the environment, because wasted energy works against the efforts that we’re all making to reduce our carbon footprint as we strive to alleviate the climate stress that the planet is currently facing.

There’s a human element at risk as well when insulation is no longer dry. Moist, damp insulation is a breeding ground for mold and mold can have a very serious impact on the health of a building’s occupants. If mold is growing in your building, people with respiratory ailments may find that their asthma or allergies are worsening.

Damp insulation is an indication that the building is not free from leaks caused by moisture and a leak that goes undetected can cause actual harm to the building itself; in a worst-case scenario, structural collapse may result from this situation. Wall cladding is a frontline defense system that will keep your building healthy for the people who live and work inside it. It will also keep the building itself healthy by preventing leaks that weaken a structure.

Choose Danpal wall cladding that’s designed to keep insulation dry. Your healthy building will be the result!

Wall Cladding That Protects Your Building and Keeps it Looking Attractive

Wall Cladding for Pretty Protection of Your Building Exterior

The human body would be a little unpleasant to look at if our bones, muscles, and tissues lacked skin to cover them. That’s one way of looking at how wall cladding improves the appearance of a building, but wall cladding doesn’t just serve an aesthetic purpose. Wall cladding comes in different forms such as metal, wood, galvanized steel, brick, plastic, and imitation stone.

Danpal’s exclusive double nothing wall cladding system keeps water outside where it belongs and not inside, where it causes leakages. Choosing your wall cladding carefully can save you time, trouble, and money over the long-term life of your building.

How Danpal Wall Cladding is Made

Danpal wall cladding is designed with an air gap that uses natural ventilation to keep the insulation dry for a long time. The wall cladding system is made of connector-bound Microcell polycarbonate panels that are three times lighter than the traditional rainscreen cladding. Watertight thanks to the double notching, the system is light in weight and solid in performance.

Danpal’s ventilated rainscren cladding system relies upon the proven ability of the Danpalon® panel for complete protection of the insulation. Once the wall cladding is in place, it doesn’t need routine maintenance, making it an especially versatile and efficient building material. Just a simple wash can make it look as if it’s brand new.

Wall Cladding That Protects Your Building and Keeps it Looking Attractive1Easy Installation of Danpal Wall Cladding

Because the connector-bound Microcell polycarbonate panels of Danpals’ ventilated rainscreen cladding are three times lighter than the weight of traditional rainscreen cladding, the wall cladding is much easier and much quicker to install. The pace and ease of installation are also aided by the way that connections are made directly onto the support, without the use of additional supporting framed structures.

Weather Protection from Wall Cladding

As the seasons go by, each one has a different effect upon the exterior of a building. The intense sunlight of summer and the swirling snow of winter are equally damaging to a building; add in the rain, hail, and wind, and you can see why a building needs year-round protection from the elements. Wall cladding, the layering of one material on top of another, defends the building from the snow, rain, hail, wind, and sun. Weather is primarily an external threat, but if you’ve chosen an inferior wall cladding system and it fails to protect the building, rain can leak inside which presents a threat to the safety of the occupants and damage to the building itself. Other threats to building integrity include chemical and air pollution, which inflict an equally harmful deterioration to a building.

Wall Cladding is Available in a Variety of Colors and Designs

You’ll be looking forward to making the choice of color and design for the commercial wall cladding once you’ve reviewed the advantages of Danpal wall cladding. Although the company is dedicated to providing building materials that are solid, strong, and in compliance with regulations and the environment, Danpal also believes that esthetics matter for a building. That’s why Danpal provides so many appealing choices in color, texture, and finishes.

Choose a curtain wall system for your building’s appearance and defense against weather

If you’ve been listening to the weather reports lately, you’ve probably noticed that either Mother Nature is having one major temper tantrum, or the seasons are changing. On all parts of the planet, people are coming to terms with stronger storms, unpredictable variations in patterns, and a growing sense that all of us need to pay attention to the signs coming out of the sky.

Smart consumers are adapting their lifestyles and their routines to accommodate the need to treat the planet the way we would treat a beloved family member who’s going through a rough time: gently, attentively, and unselfishly. The building industry is doing the same thing as everyone else because we know that the structures that architects design need to conform to the ethical and sustainable goals of an environmentally-conscious society while still meeting the needs and preferences of architects and their clients.

At Danpal, we can promise that the products that you buy are designed with quality in mind. Research and development aren’t just words at Danpal; they’re a priority. There are many ways to design a building that provides structural strength and aesthetic appeal and one of those ways is to install a curtain wall system.

Curtain Wall SystemsCURTAIN WALL SYSTEMS ARE A SHIELD AGAINST WEATHER

Danpal’s microcell technology is key to the strength of a Danpal curtain wall system. The material is incredibly strong and at the same time, it’s light in weight and easy to work with. Rain and snow bring moisture that, once inside, becomes the enemy. The weather that manages to invade a building’s interior can cause a lot of damage over time, so protection from leaks is one of the popular assets of having a curtain wall system.

Another prized feature of our curtain wall systems is the protection they offer from hail, a potentially dangerous weather phenomenon that has the power to inflict considerable damage against an unprotected building. A building doesn’t have to be a fort to be protected from the weather; all it needs is a curtain wall system from Danpal.

BEAUTY IS BUILT INTO THE CURTAIN WALL SYSTEMS

Danpal doesn’t want a building to look as if it’s so super-protected that it could double for a military complex. We know that people want to live and work in buildings that have an attractive appearance, where comfort is a priority. Danpal curtain wall systems have the unique ability to take the color palette and turn it into a building’s rainbow runway. We even have a variety of different shades of white that can give your building a lustrous appearance. Customizing the look of a building to the tone and flavor of the neighborhood is something for which curtain wall systems are especially well suited.

THE CURTAIN WALL SYSTEMS ARE EASY TO WORK WITH

The construction of a building takes a lot of time. So isn’t it nice that a curtain wall system from Danpal, because it’s made of lightweight materials, is easy to install, taking less time and effort? The concealed joints that keep the exterior wall flush also facilitate the ease of customization, which is another plus for installation, along with the curtain wall system’s double-locking seam.

All of these Danpal features add up to a curtain wall system that gives your building protection against weather, ease of installation, and an enhanced appearance.

Welsh National Sailing Academy. Land, sea and sky.

Situated on an exposed North Wales peninsula between the Irish Sea and the Afon Erch river estuary, the stunning Welsh National Sailing Academy building is both an international centre of excellence for sailing and a multi-purpose event space for the local community.

Working with the Sailing Academy and the Gwynydd County Council, Ellis Williams Architects of Liverpool based the building’s unique design on the classic principle of ‘form following function’.

A unique spiral building design is centered on a large circular main hall, enabling fully rigged boats to be towed in and out with ease while being protected from the location’s strong coastal winds. Curved public terraces overlooking sailing competitions in the bay are situated to the more sheltered north western side, with a glazed café area offering stunning panoramic views of both the bay and the Snowdonia National Park beyond.

Pwllheli-Wesl-National-Sailing-AcademyOn the opposite side, a bar and terrace looks out towards the marina and estuary. A critical design criteria for the project was to maximize the amount of natural daylight entering the circular hall to assist in the preparation of sailing boats and their close scrutinizing by competition judges. To meet this requirement, Ellis Williams specified Danpalon® translucent polycarbonate panel cladding system for both the curved hall façade and the round hall roof.

To harmonize with the project’s extensive use of natural stone gabions, sea grass banking and treated softwood building materials clear (uncoloured) Danpalon® panels were selected and pre-treated with Softlite coating to limit light glare and achieve a subtle matt finish.

The translucent panels also enabled a variety of attractive night time building illumination effects to be achieved using energy-efficient coloured LED lighting, while its excellent thermal properties mean the central hall is able to function as an unheated event space.

With its unique and stunning aesthetic appearance, the Welsh National Sailing Academy has won a series of national architecture prizes including the RIBA Regional, LABC, ICE and CEW awards.

Wall Cladding Keeps Insulation Dry and Free From Moisture

If you or someone in your home suffers from any kind of respiratory condition such as asthma, you’re already aware that mold is a health threat. But not everyone realizes that mold results when moisture, instead of being prevented from penetrating the exterior of a building, manages to make its way inside. Moisture is a threat to a building because it causes leaks, structural stress and even building collapse if the moisture advances to that point. Its danger as a health threat can be a silent, invisible menace because the building occupants may not realize immediately that their breathing problems or their allergies are the result of the mold that thrives in a moist environment. How can you protect the people who live or work in your building from the dangers of mold? Danpal wall cladding is a solution to the problem of moisture.

Wall CladdingKeeping The Insulation Healthy Keeps You Healthy

The simple formula for a healthy building is to keep the insulation dry. As long as the insulation is free from moisture, the building isn’t at risk for the development of mold and the building itself remains in good condition. But insulation, if it’s not protected, is vulnerable. Wall cladding is like a protective sheath that keeps the internal building dry because it protects the insulation.

We all know that weather is a potent force in the world of nature. Buildings, in order to withstand the forces of nature, must be equipped with a defense system that can handle pouring rain, wind gusts, heavy snowfall, pounding hail, and intense sunlight. When you give your building the protection of Danpal wall cladding, you’re giving the insulation the defense that it needs in order to remain free of moisture caused by leaks.

The Mechanics of Wall Cladding

You’ve heard a lot about Danpal’s microcell technology and you already know that it’s a strong, durable product capable of protecting insulation from moisture. The strength of the wall cladding’s connector-bound polycarbonate sheets creates a strong barrier to penetration by snow and rain. We use double notching so that the wall cladding is watertight and airtight. Our wall cladding is designed with an air gap; the cladding’s convective motion delivers natural ventilation. The end result of this air flow is dry insulation. Our Ventilated Rainscreen System (VRS) is the top-of-the-line wall cladding for the ultimate in insulation protection. No matter how wet, windy and cold it might be outside, you’ll stay dry and warm inside.

Easy Installation and Customization for Danpal Wall Cladding

Danpal’s goal is to develop products that deliver a superior performance, support the environment, and are easy to work with. Our wall cladding meets all these standards. We offer panels that can be customized up to the 12.0m standard length. Architects appreciate the creativity that customization offers; clients welcome the savings that come with our easy-to-install systems that don’t take a lot of time to put into place.
Give your building the protection it needs in order to last by installing wall cladding from Danpal.

Worry-Free Wall Cladding Keeps The Moisture Out

The next time you’re listening to the weather forecast, you might want to consider the state of your wall cladding. What, you wonder, does the daily weather have to do with wall cladding? Actually, a lot, especially if you don’t have wall cladding by Danpal. That’s because inferior cladding may not be able to provide the level of protection that a building’s insulation must have if it’s going to be able to perform at a satisfactory level. Insulation that’s been compromised is going to cost money over time because energy is escaping, forcing heating and cooling systems to work harder to maintain a consistent temperature. Lost energy is a major factor for environmental concerns. In most of the world’s IEA countries, buildings are blamed for the use of 40% of primary energy consumption. You can imagine what happens to that number if energy is being wasted.

But if you have Danpal wall cladding, you’re not worrying about the weather forecast because you know that, if it rains or snows, your insulation is safe and dry. Danpal wall cladding doesn’t let moisture penetrate. Danpal manufactures products that conform to high environmental standards in order to assist energy efficiency. If you have Danpal cladding, you don’t have to worry when you listen to the weather forecast. If it’s going to rain, take an umbrella. If snow is predicted, wear a warm coat. You don’t have to worry because Danpal has already taken care of it.

Wall Cladding

An air gap in Danpal wall cladding makes use of natural ventilation to keep the insulation dry. The convective motion behind the wall also keeps the insulation free from moisture and working efficiently so that moisture doesn’t develop. Water penetrates because of our exclusive double nothing. Connector-bound microcell polycarbonate panels keep your building leak-free and moisture-free. For full insulation protection, consider the merits of the Danpal Ventilated Rainscreen System. Keeping moisture out is so important for the long life of your building because once snow and rain are able to penetrate a building’s defenses and leave moisture behind, leaks will soon follow. Wall cladding is designed to keep out the leaks and the moisture so that problems don’t develop.

Danpal Wall Cladding Offers Esthetic Options

Danpal wall cladding is so easy to work with that it makes the installation process vastly simpler than it is for other wall cladding of traditional weight. Our panel is lightweight; it’s also customizable, up to 12.0m standard lengths. This feature, along with our great range of designs and colors to choose from, lets customers enjoy a level of personal choice that isn’t often found in the building industry.

Proof That Danpal Wall Cladding Is Superior

Danpal wall cladding is designed to do a better job of protecting insulation from weather. It’s energy efficient, saving you money and supporting the health of the planet. It’s customizable so that an architect can be satisfied in knowing that his design reflects his originality and creativity. It’s lightweight, easy to work with, and easy to install.

And when you have Danpal wall cladding, you aren’t alarmed by the weather forecast, because you already have all the protection you need for your building’s insulation.

Wall Cladding Protects Insulation From Moisture

Most people would agree that their household budgets have enough to cover and don’t need any extra expenses added to it. But if your insulation isn’t intact, if moisture has penetrated to the interior of your home or business, then you’ve already added a new item to your budget without even realizing it. That’s because the energy that you use to heat and cool the inside of your structure is escaping outside, increasing your energy bills, and you might not have figured out the reason why. Compromised insulation is one of the main reasons why energy consumption increases; it’s also one of the reasons why buildings experience issues that can, if not attended to promptly, lead to real problems later on. The right wall cladding can help provide the protection that your building must have if it’s going to be able to prevent moisture from invading your home or business.

wall claddingHow Wall Cladding Protects Insulation From Moisture

Weather has a lot of weapons at hand to defeat a building. Year after year, there are snowfalls, rainstorms, winds and hail; and don’t forget about the hot sun which beats down upon a building during the warmer months. Danpal wall cladding has a convective motion, with an air gap to provide natural ventilation, that keeps the insulation dry. Rain and snow are prevented from getting inside because of our connector-bound microcell polycarbonate sheets and our double-notching. How can a building hope to withstand such an onslaught from nature? Danpal has put a lot of research into its products and our wall cladding reflects the innovative spirit that marks all of our materials.

Energy Efficiency and Insulation

Buildings have a vital role to play in the goal to maintain a sustainable lifestyle. In most IEA countries, it’s the buildings that consume 40% of primary energy. If your building’s insulation is allowing energy to escape, you’re the one paying the bill but the planet is paying the price for wasted energy. The purpose of insulation is to keep your energy within the structure so that you can maintain a consistent indoor temperature. But once insulation has been damaged by moisture, your heating and cooling systems have to work harder to maintain that consistent temperature. By protecting the insulation of a building, wall cladding is doing its part to help the building occupants support a sustainable lifestyle.

The Benefits Of Working With Danpal Wall Cladding

The main purpose of wall cladding is, as we’ve noted, to protect the insulation of a building. But Danpal wall cladding, because our panels are customizable up to 12.0m standard length, offers a level of creativity and originality in architectural design that you can’t expect to find in other products. Customization is a fantastic benefit for architects because it allows them to indulge in more creativity with their designs. Add in the fact that Danpal wall cladding is available in so many colors and designs and it’s easy to understand how a building’s appearance is enhanced.

You Can Have Confidence in Danpal Wall Cladding

Whether you’re building a simple cottage or an architectural masterpiece, the lifespan of your structure is going to depend on how effective it is in preventing weather from invading the interior space. That means that a building’s exterior has to be ready to engage in battle so that it can prevent the harmful effects of snow, rain, wind, hail, and sunlight from penetrating the interior. Wall cladding, which helps to protect your building’s insulation in order to keep moisture from causing damage, is a primary means of preventing insulation from being compromised.

That building that, right now, might be just in the design stage, is going to take its place in a physical location. You want that structure to last. So does Danpal, and that’s why we recommend that that you consider our wall cladding for your building. We’ve been leaders in the building industry for 50 years. We operate on five continents and have developed an international reputation that reflects our motto, Global Vision, Local Focus. Your satisfaction and the long life of your building, are our priorities.

Wall CladdingWall Cladding Protects Insulation

Human beings need shelter and so buildings are necessary. We work in them, we live in them, we are entertained in them. But buildings, if not properly constructed and maintained, can threaten the wellbeing of the planet. That’s because, in most IEA countries, buildings are responsible for the consumption of 40% of primary energy. How does that work with today’s standards for sustainability? That depends on whether your building is energy efficient.

If energy is escaping from the inside of a structure, it’s costing you money. Your insulation is designed to keep your energy inside so that the temperatures that you set for heating and cooling are consistent. But if moisture has reached your insulation, energy efficiency cannot be maintained because your insulation can’t do its job properly. In other words, if you want to make sure that your building remains healthy for a long time, take the steps that are needed to provide your insulation with complete protection.

Danpal wall cladding uses a convective motion to keep insulation dry because of the natural ventilation that comes through an air gap. Connector-bound microcell polycarbonate sheets and double-notching are a line of defense to keep out the rain and snow that could allow moisture to seep into your building. If you can keep moisture out—and Danpal wall cladding can—you’re giving your insulation the protection that it needs to maintain your building’s health.

Customizable Wall Cladding

Instead of seeing a building design as something that has to follow a rigid pattern, Danpal likes to see originality. Our wall cladding enhances the appearance of a building because we offer such a variety of colors and designs to enable our clients to create a building, not just build it. Once the interior of your building has been designed so that the insulation is protected from harm, feel free to let loose with your creativity. Our panels are customizable up to 12.0m standard length to offer you plenty of personal choice.

Buildings Are Better with Insulation Protection from Wall Cladding

A building should be able to last. When the architects draw up the plans for the building, it’s their intent for the structure to endure. One of the most important ways to maintain the structural integrity of a building is also one of the simplest: keep the insulation dry. If insulation is protected from leakages, moisture won’t be able to penetrate the interior of a building. Wall cladding’s mission is to do just that—by preventing the external weather from penetrating the interior of a building, wall cladding keeps the insulation dry.

If your building had ears, it would listen to the weather forecast each day and shudder in fear. That’s because buildings and weather are natural enemies. You might not have realized how much harm weather can cause. Just think about it. Winter brings with it the fury of a snowstorm, with howling winds and hail. Rain is a year-round threat. Even summer, with its bright warmth, presents a threat because of the powerful rays of the sun that beat down on a building.

As you listen to the forecast each day, aren’t you glad that Danpal has created products that help to weather-proof your building’s interior?

Wall CladdingThe Importance of Dry Insulation

Wet insulation can’t insulate. That’s the reason why your building’s insulation must be kept free from damaging leaks that permit moisture to invade the interior of the structure. Compromised insulation undermines the energy efficiency of your heating and cooling systems, which in turn cost you money because you’re using more energy than you really need. When that happens, the environment ultimately pays the long-term price as your building begins to take on a monster-sized carbon footprint.

How to keep your insulation dry? That’s an easy question to answer. Install Danpal wall cladding, which has an air gap that provides natural ventilation with a convective motion that keeps insulation dry. With its double-notching and connector-bound microcell polycarbonate sheets, our wall cladding keeps the moisture out. Insulation remains dry and that reinforces the weather-resistance capabilities of your building.

Easy to Install, Nice to Look at

Danpal wall cladding is completely reliable in performing its designated function. But it’s also attractive so that, just as it shields the inside of a building from moisture, it’s enhancing the external view of a building’s appearance. Options are varied; because our wall cladding is customizable up to 12.0m, Danpal can offer many options. Color is one of the most popular options for those who are looking for ways to make their building get noticed. We’re the go-to company when you’re looking for ways to add daylighting to your building’s attributes. Our panels are light in weight, making installation very easy.

Wall cladding is one of those wonderful building features that multitasks to keep your structure safe and attractive. It lets daylight in, and keeps weather out. When you think about it, wall cladding is the best of both worlds for your building.

Wall Cladding Secures Insulation from Moisture

The construction of a building is founded upon a simple goal: people inside the building should be comfortable and protected from the elements. Those elements need to be kept outside the building. The building itself must be able to withstand the punishment that nature dishes out but it must be able to do so without fanfare. The occupants within don’t want to worry about whether the rain is causing leakages, or the moisture has penetrated the insulation, or the hail has caused damaged. Danpal understands this philosophy and we support it. That’s why we develop building materials that do their job and do it right. That’s true with Danpal wall cladding, which is designed to make sure that insulation stays dry.

Wall Cladding Makes the Difference

Wall CladdingDanpal wall cladding is designed with an air gap which provides natural ventilation that uses a convective motion to keep the insulation dry. Because of our double-notching and connector-bound Microcell polycarbonate sheets, which are lighter in weight that traditional rainscreen cladding, create a shield against the external rain so that moisture cannot penetrate. Protecting your insulation is the first step in taking the precautions that are vital for the long life of your building.

Why Insulation Needs to Stay Dry

Today’s concern with energy efficiency reflects a greater awareness of how much the planet depends upon all of us to monitor our energy usage. Because buildings account for 40% of energy consumption, it’s especially important to ensure that the energy is being used as we intend. That means that we need to know that compromised insulation isn’t the culprit in allowing energy to escape from within. If it is, your energy bills are going to reflect that wasted energy. An attractive option for your wall cladding is Danpal’s Ventilated Rainscreen System, which has the Danpalon panel for complete insulation protection.

Wall Cladding Improves Your Building’s Appearance

What’s especially unique about wall cladding isn’t just its superior performance in protecting insulation from moisture, although that’s certainly a major consideration. Wall cladding also enhances a building’s appearance. Danpal offers a great variety of colors and designs so that you can choose exactly the look that’s right for your building. Our wall cladding is customizable up to 12.0m, the standard length, to provide you with even more options when making your selection. We also make use of light to provide even more options when defining the look of your building. Because it’s our goal to become the leading manufacturer and distributor of complete light architecture systems, we can show you how to make your building stand out in both performance and appearance.

Danpal delivers on its promise to please the customer and protect the planet while providing building materials that offer something more than what you’ll get from other companies. Our daylighting techniques give buildings a touch of nature, thanks to the natural light that we employ. Beauty and performance are an unbeatable combination. like what you get when you use Danpal wall cladding.

Main benefits of Danpal’s Rainscreen Cladding – VRS System

Cladding is the skin of a building, designed to prevent outside weather from coming inside. Human skin conceals the arteries, blood vessels, bone and tissue that do the work of the physical body, and likewise, cladding presents a building’s attractive exterior rather than exposing the construction materials and spaces that are the inner workings of the structure. But there’s a difference: a little bit of rain or wind is okay for the body. That’s not the case for a building, which has to be constructed so that water and air remain outside where they belong. The DANPAL® VRS Ventilated Rainscreen System is our company’s weather protection for your building.

Rainscreen CladdingWhat is the DANPAL® Ventilated Rainscreen System?

External Wall Cladding – What’s important to consider before making any choices?

When you are looking for external wall cladding systems, it is important that your choice complies with all of the relevant building regulations and that it ensures the maintenance of an efficient level of insulation in a building.

Wall CladdingIn the past, wall cladding often did not really have to consider the insulation effects that were seen due to loose regulations, but in recent times this has become a massive issue as people are conferenced about having structures that are energy efficient. If a building is energy efficient, heat can be maximised while energy costs minimised. It’s a win-win situation.

You may want to simply refurbish an existing structure or starting from scratch with the external wall cladding. Whatever the case may be, our ventilated rainscreen system of wall cladding at Danpal can help you achieve all of these goals and then more.

It has been shown that about 40% of energy consumption in most developed countries comes from buildings. This highlights the large scope for savings when it come sot energy costs. Our ventilated rainscreen system at Danpal has been designed specifically with this statistic key in the front of the minds of our designers and engineers.

Our system involves the well-respected Danpalon panel that helps to insure that the insulation is protected at all times no matter the weather or extent of impact.

One of the keys to having effective external wall cladding is having an optimal level of natural ventilation. Thanks to the convective motion seen behind our panels, the insulation will be kept dry and will not lose any of its performance benefits over time. This replaces the costs of having to replace damaged or suboptimal panels in the long run.

The system is light and solid at the same time. It is made up of connector bound microcell polycarbonate panels which are 3 times more lightweight than the usual rain screen cladding that is found on the market.

As it is so easy to install, you will be able to meet your project deadlines and even come in before deadlines as a result than if you were using more traditional options.

If you are building in an environment that receives a lot of rainfall and strong winds during the year, water tightness going to be something you are very concerned with when making your selection. Our system has perfect water tightness so this is not an issue you will have to worry about again.
