Nave Mayoral Málaga

A New Language of Industrial Architecture

Nave Mayoral, Málaga

Where Logistics Meets Light Architecture

At Mayoral’s Intelhorce campus in Málaga, Spain, SYSTEM ARQUITECTURA AVANZADA transforms the conventional warehouse into a luminous architectural landmark. The 200,000 sqft logistics building rises 65 feet. Rather than conceal its scale, the project softens it through curved façades and a textile-inspired envelope that speaks directly to Mayoral’s fashion heritage.

Nave Mayoral demonstrates how industrial architecture can move beyond pure utility to become an expressive, energy-conscious building envelope. The façade is conceived as a double skin: an inner layer of translucent polycarbonate and an outer layer of custom micro-perforated zinc. Together, these two skins explore the architectural language of fabric—transparency, opacity, lightness, and movement—while responding to the demanding scale and performance needs of a logistics facility

From Industrial Envelope to Illuminated Architecture

The project is a compelling case study in how translucent polycarbonate walls can resolve multiple design ambitions at once: visual identity, daylight quality, durability, and energy efficiency. Danpalon® Microcell panels are designed to combine translucency and strength, transmitting an even diffusion of natural light while supporting thermal insulation, UV protection, impact resistance, and weather performance.

By day, the Opal Danpal façade layer turns the logistics center into a softly illuminated interior landscape, giving the large industrial volume an unexpected clarity and calm. By night, the building reverses its presence: the translucent walls transform the warehouse into a glowing urban object, reinforcing Mayoral’s brand identity and giving the campus a memorable architectural signature. Danpal’s façade systems are specifically positioned for this kind of dual performance—illuminating spaces with natural light during the day and creating radiant translucent walls after dark.

The result is an award-winning industrial building that balances scale with refinement, and performance with visual impact. Nave Mayoral shows how advanced daylighting systems can help architects design logistics and commercial buildings that are not only efficient and durable, but also atmospheric, site-specific, and unmistakably contemporary.
