H&M Flagship Store - Times Square Feature Walls
Retail Light, Reimagined
In the heart of Times Square, where architecture competes with motion, color, and constant visual energy, the H&M interior escalator becomes more than a circulation element—it becomes a luminous architectural experience. Framed by translucent Danpal wall systems and activated with integrated LED backlighting, the escalator transforms vertical movement into a branded moment of discovery, guiding visitors through the store with atmosphere, rhythm, and light

Light Architecture in Motion
Danpal’s translucent panels help create a soft, evenly diffused glow that gives the escalator walls depth without visual heaviness. By day, the material reads as clean, modern, and architectural; at night, the LED lighting turns the wall surface into a radiant backdrop that feels perfectly aligned with the illuminated character of Times Square. The result is an interior feature that performs as both wayfinding and visual identity, subtle enough to support the retail environment, yet memorable enough to become part of the customer experience.
For architects, the project demonstrates how translucent polycarbonate systems can elevate interior applications where light, durability, and design flexibility all matter. Danpal Interior solutions are designed for walls, partitions, ceilings, and lighting features, allowing designers to use natural or artificial light as an architectural material.
Danpal systems are built around the concept of “Light Architecture,” transforming natural and artificial light into a versatile design tool for surfaces that radiate from within. For H&M, that means the escalator is not simply a transition between floors. It becomes a glowing interior landmark—an illuminated wall experience that reinforces brand energy, enhances customer flow, and brings the spectacle of Times Square inside.
